About Hybrid By Nature
Part code, part curiosity.
who can't stick to one discipline.
Games, tools, and interactive experiments — built from scratch, often with AI as a creative partner. This is where ideas become things you can actually open in a browser.
A personal workshop
Hybrid By Nature is a personal workshop — a place where games, tools, and ideas are built from scratch, often with AI as a creative partner. Every item on this site started as a curiosity: What if I built a roguelike set in a SCADA system? What if I made a safety verification tool that runs in the browser? What if a game could teach something about cellular automata?
Some experiments become polished tools. Others stay small. All of them are things worth sharing.
Hi — I'm Pato
I'm Pato — an electrical engineer in Perth, Western Australia. Born and raised in Santiago, Chile. I work in control systems and functional safety, but my path here started with an Atari, a Commodore 64, and a 386 — modifying games, making graphics, pulling apart anything I could understand.
That curiosity turned into a career across R&D, radio communications, system integration and industrial safety. Chilean and Australian. Hardware and software. Precision and play. Nothing I do fits neatly into one box, and I stopped trying to make it.
I believe in learning by building. I think curiosity, discipline, and sharing what you know are what actually move things forward. This site is where all of that converges — a workshop to build things and share them, with AI as a creative partner.
Because nothing fits neatly into one category
The games borrow from engineering. The tools have a playful side. The posts are experiments. Every piece is a hybrid of disciplines, and that's the point.
"Hybrid By Nature" is not a brand strategy — it's a description. The instinct to cross disciplines, to combine precision and play, to take something from one domain and apply it in another — that's just how I think. The site reflects that.
